Vision

Premiere organization and knowledge center for supply of quality rural chicken and low input technology birds for Rural Poultry Development in the region.

Mission

CPDO (ER) is committed to produce, supply poultry products including chicks and quails, test livestock feeds and train farmers/ entrepreneurs as per the requirements

Objectives

  • To make available quality Day Old Chicks(DOC)/Hatching Eggs (HE) of Low Input Technology (LIT) birds.
  • To diversify Poultry activity towards Japanese quail and Guinea fowl.
  • To analysis livestock feed/feed ingredients received from Public & Private Sectors.
  • To impact poultry training & extension activities in the region.
  • To monitor Central Sector/Centrally Sponsored Schemes in the Eastern & North Eastern States.

Functions

  • Maintaining sufficient quantity of Low Input technology and indigenous breeds of poultry germplasm to support and meet the regional demand of the country.
  • Promoting and popularizing of diversify poultry species like Japanese quail & Guinea fowl through supply of inputs (Eggs and chicks) & disseminating technology know-how.
  • This Organization is actively involved in analyzing Livestock feed/feed ingredients which is a 80 % input component of the poultry business and also helps farmers making better feed formulation
  • CPDO imparting practical poultry training for unemployed youth/farmers to improve their skill in poultry farming.
  • Monitoring different Central Sector/Centrally Sponsored Poultry Schemes for Development of Poultary Eastern and NER.
